This course covers the skills and knowledge required to complete the performance of rescue procedures from live Low Voltage (LV) equipment, and CPR training.
The Low Voltage Rescue Package has been updated. If you do not hold a Electrotechnology Certificate it now requires one of the following pre-requisites in order to obtain CPR\LVR accreditation:
- UEECD0007
- UETDRL006.
These are mandatory prerequisite units if you do not hold your Electrical License.
SAME DAY ACCREDITATION
At AFA we guarantee SAME DAY accreditation!

The UETDRRF004 Low Voltage Rescue qualification must be renewed annually (every 12 months) to maintain compliance with industry standards and workplace safety requirements. This ensures electrical workers maintain current competency in emergency response procedures. Both initial and refresher training can be completed through Accelerate First Aid.
Our streamlined Low Voltage Rescue course takes approximately 2 hours to complete, including both theory (1 hour) and practical components (1 hour). This intensive format ensures you receive all required training efficiently, minimizing time away from work while maintaining comprehensive coverage of all safety procedures and rescue techniques.
LVR training is mandatory for electrical workers, including electricians, electrical contractors, solar installers, and anyone working near low voltage electrical equipment. It's also required for those working in industries where exposure to electrical hazards is possible, such as construction, mining, and industrial maintenance.
The course covers crucial skills including: hazard assessment, safely approaching electrical incidents, correct rescue techniques from live electrical situations, proper use of insulated equipment, CPR and defibrillator use specific to electrical incidents, and emergency response procedures. You'll also learn about risk assessment and safety protocols specific to electrical environments.
While there are no formal prerequisites, participants should have a basic understanding of electrical safety. You must be physically capable of performing rescue techniques and CPR. Current CPR certification (HLTAID009) is recommended but not mandatory, as CPR training is included in the course. Basic English language skills are required for understanding safety instructions.
Yes, our UETDRRF004 course fully complies with all current Australian Standards, Work Health and Safety regulations, and electrical safety requirements. The course is nationally accredited and meets the training requirements specified by Energy Networks Australia and state electrical safety regulators.
Training includes hands-on experience with industry-standard safety equipment including: insulated rescue equipment, CPR manikins, AED trainers, and personal protective equipment (PPE). We simulate realistic rescue scenarios using proper electrical safety gear to ensure practical, relevant training.
Please bring photo ID and wear comfortable work clothing suitable for practical exercises. If you have your own electrical PPE, you're welcome to bring it, though we provide all necessary training equipment. Steel-cap boots are recommended but not mandatory for the training environment.
Assessment includes both theoretical and practical components. You'll need to demonstrate competency in rescue techniques, CPR, and emergency response procedures. This includes simulated rescue scenarios and proper use of safety equipment. Written assessment ensures understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Most employers cover the cost of LVR training as it's a mandatory workplace safety requirement for electrical workers. The course is typically tax-deductible for professionals in the electrical industry. Check with your employer about their training reimbursement policies.
