The HLTAID015 Advanced Resuscitation certificate is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Annual renewal ensures you maintain competency with advanced life support skills and stay current with the latest resuscitation guidelines. Both initial and refresher training can be completed through Accelerate First Aid.

Advanced Resuscitation goes beyond basic CPR by including oxygen therapy, airway management techniques, use of bag-valve-mask (BVM) devices, suction equipment, and advanced patient monitoring. You'll learn to manage complex resuscitation scenarios and work as part of a team in emergency situations.

The course combines approximately 3-4 hours of online theory learning with a 6-hour face-to-face practical session. This comprehensive format ensures thorough coverage of advanced techniques while providing ample hands-on practice with specialized equipment.

You'll learn advanced skills including: oxygen therapy administration, use of bag-valve-mask resuscitators, oropharyngeal airways management, automated external defibrillation (AED), suction equipment operation, vital signs monitoring, advanced teamwork scenarios, and complex patient assessment techniques. The course also covers oxygen safety and equipment maintenance.

Please ensure you have your HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate before attending this course. While current CPR certification (HLTAID009) is also recommended, it's covered within the First Aid requirement. Participants should have good English language skills and physical capability to perform extended CPR and handle emergency equipment. Some healthcare experience is beneficial but not required.

Training includes hands-on experience with professional-grade equipment including: oxygen therapy units, pulse oximeters, bag-valve-mask devices, oropharyngeal airways, suction units, AEDs, and advanced CPR manikins. All equipment meets current Australian Standards and industry requirements.

Assessment includes both theory and practical components. You'll need to demonstrate competency in advanced resuscitation techniques, oxygen administration, equipment use, and team-based scenarios. Written assessment ensures thorough understanding of advanced life support principles and emergency protocols.
